How to apply for project support

One major goal of the TYPO3 Association is the promotion of further development of the TYPO3 project. It does so by supporting the people who contribute code, knowledge and time to reach the goals for each TYPO3 release.

Support can be provided in many different ways: By providing knowledge or information, by organizing core development, giving money or help with finding sponsors. Not all projects need support and only few can be supported financially from the limited means of the Association.

Members of the TYPO3 Association can apply for support by the R&D Committee. The projects should focus on the main goal for a certain TYPO3 release but exceptions can be made if the idea is innovative and supports the goals of the TYPO3 project.

Applications for support must be sent in written form to the committee leader and must be received by him before the deadline which is defined for each TYPO3 version. All applications will be forwarded to the General Assembly who finally decides on the application of funds usually within one month.

Projects funded by the TYPO3 Association are covered by a simple contract which provides for payment by multiple installments. One payment will be made after publishing a beta version while at least 30% of the agreed funds will be paid only 4 weeks after publishing the final version provided that no severe bugs appeared and have not already been fixed by the author.

In case the bugs could not be fixed by the author after that period, the TYPO3 Association can put the bugfix out to tender by using the remaining funds.

If you would like to apply for support please write an email to the R&D public discussion mailing list so we can discuss your idea and help you with the application. The URL of the mailing list can be found on the resources page.
