Frequently Asked Questions on Membership

Why should I become a supporting member?

By becoming a supporting member, individuals and organisations mainly fund core development of TYPO3. The decision about what the funds are used for, is made in the Research & Development Committee. These decisions will be made transparent to the community and especially the supporting members. Your funds will also serve for other purposes as laid out in the bylaws, but expressly not for funding time other than in development.

Thus supporting members invest in the future of their preffered CMS. Additionally, they earn the right to display a banner showing their support as a company on their website and become elegible for the consultancy list on TYPO3.com, provided they fulfill all other requirements as well. See TYPO3.com>Support>Consultancies>How to get listed for details.

Are there other ways to support the TYPO3 project

Of course all activities and efforts done in any of the projects and tasks the TYPO3 community has is welcome and vital. However, membership is a publicly visible way of showing your companies affiliation and support for the TYPO3 project. It also helps to support the people that gave you TYPO3 in the first place and to offer a perspective to mid and long-term core development beyond the scope of sponsored projects .
